World Nursery Rhyme Week

by Ms Kanes

13th – 17 th November 2023

World Nursery Rhyme Week is fast approaching, and we are delighted to confirm we will be taking part. The initiative, launched in 2013, promotes the importance of nursery rhymes in early childhood development and education with a particular focus on how nursery rhymes boost early language and literacy skills.

We have a number of activities planned throughout the week, so please check your child's Tapestry regularly to see what we are up to and how you can support!

Singing nursery rhymes is a wonderful activity you can also enjoy doing together at home. You can access all of the free resources at home by registering at  www.worldnurseryrhymeweek.com

We can't wait to celebrate a wonderful week of rhyming with your children!

Best wishes,

Ms Kanes, Miss Carpenter, Mrs Watson

Visitor- Oral Health Specialist

by Ms Kanes

On Monday 30th October, nursery had a special visitor- an oral health specialist Sue.

She talked to us about how to look after our teeth, what a dentist does and read us a special story about looking after our teeth! We got lots of information and our own teeth brushing chart to take home.

Thank you, Sue!

Learning Twi!

by Ms Kanes

This week in nursery we have been learning all about the different languages we speak in our class.

Today one of our parents came in and told us a story. Then she taught us how to say ‘hello', ‘please' and ‘thank you' in Twi.
