Year 4 - Homework - Should pets be protected more than other animals?

by Mr Carruthers and Miss Dhanda

Should pets be protected more than other animals?
Think about these points below:
  • Owning a pet is a big responsibility. What does this mean?
  • Do you know any charities that help animals? How do they help animals?
  • What responsibilities do you need have to own a pet?
  • What can we learn from having our own pet?
  • How are pets treated differently to other animals?
Please email your homework to:

Painting pictures with words.

by Miss Dhanda

We have been practising making our writing more interesting to read by adding descrption. Good writers 'show, not tell.' This means, we use our different senses to paint a picture in the reader's mind.

Example:

Jacob was excited. (tell)

Jacob jumped up and and down on the spot and punched the air with his fist. (show)

Now it's your turn. Write descriptive sentences about these people.

Year 4 Homework - How can you reduce food waste?

by Mr Hennessey

Food waste has a MASSIVE impact on our planet!

The food we eat accounts for a quarter of our carbon footprints - that's the things we do individually that can produce carbon dioxide which can affect climate change. And, around a third of the food produced globally is wasted - which contributes towards climate change.

Find out more here What is food waste?

Think about these points:

 - How might you have wasted food?

 - What kinds of food waste can you think of?

 - Your homework is to find three ways to stop food from being wasted in a way that helps the planet!

Email your homework to:
